LCPA Sponsored Self Study Ethics Courses Available to Satisfy Your 2007-09 Requirement

You must print out your certificate of completion when you pass the test and the certificate must reflect a completion date no later than December 31, 2009. CST. The State Board of accountancy will not accept ethics credits for registrants with outstanding balances.

There are three self study ethics courses available for you to choose from. Each program relates to a different field of study relative to ethics. Please click on each acronym to get a description of each course to help you choose which program might be of the most interest to you.

  • Louisiana Professional Ethics for CPAs in Business and Industry (ETHSSB09)
  • Louisiana Ethics for Tax Professionals: Circular 230 and SSTSs (ETHSST09)
  • Louisiana Ethics: Non-Attest Services, Integrity, and Objectivity (ETHSSN09)

Each course is composed of interactive case studies requiring the participant to interact with the information to help better understand the material. All questions within the course must be completed before proceeding to the final test. Upon completion of the course you will be given the option to take the test. You must pass this test to ensure proper credit of 4 hours. You have one year from the date you launch a course, to complete the test. You may retake a test as many times as needed within that year, in order to achieve a passing grade. You must print a certificate of completion at the time you complete the test, so make sure that your computer is hooked up to your printer. Instructions follow regarding system requirements, launching the course, taking the test, and finally the printing of the certificate.
 
REMEMBER: One registration fee is good for one course. Additional courses may be taken if you are reinstating or want additional CPE credit, but you must register with and pay the LCPA for the additional programs to count towards your State Board credit.

Due to the fact that this is a self study course you must self report this information to the state board. Your LCPA transcript will not reflect whether you have completed this program. Retain your certificate of completion in the event that you are audited by the State Board.
